Bill Cosby was in town to cheer on the Philadelphia Eagles

Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Comedian Bill Cosby was in Philadelphia this weekend, cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles during the NFC Championship.

He was walking the streets wearing head-to-toe Eagles gear, before stopping for some hot chocolate. Cosby, 80, was wearing an Eagles sweatsuit and an Eagles ball cap.

He posted about his mini adventure on Sunday.

"Bill Cosby comes home to Philly to support the Eagles chase for a championship and stops by Velvet Sky Bakery & Cafe for hot chocolate and cupcakes," Cosby wrote on his social media accounts.

Cosby still has a large following on social media. The former star of The Cosby Show earned more than 940 likes on his Instagram post and more than 1,200 likes on his Facebook post. He has more than 36,000 followers on Instagram. More than 460,000 people like Cosby's Facebook page. He has more than 3.9 million Twitter followers.

Cosby was also active on social media on Saturday, filming a video at DeMarco's Hair Artistry, a barbershop in Philadelphia. He sat down and talked about jazz in that footage.

The Philadelphia native has stayed out of the public eye since being accused of sexual assault by more than 50 women. His first trial ended in a mistrial in June after six days of jury deliberation. Seven male and five female jurors were unable to come to a unanimous verdict on three counts of felony aggravated indecent assault charged against Cosby.

The prosecution said they intend to retry the case.

"Mr. Cosby's power is back -- it's back. It has been restored," Cosby's publicist Andrew Wyatt said after the trial. "The jurors, they used their power to speak. So the legacy didn't go anywhere, it has been restored."

The Eagles face the New England Patriots at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4 in Super Bowl LII at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn.
