Jaguars DT Jackson skeptical of Brady injury

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Malik Jackson isn't buying that quarterback Tom Brady will be hampered by his reported right hand injury.

Why? Well, Jackson recently has heard an opponent cite an injury to its main star ahead of facing the Jaguars.

"I remember (Buffalo Bills running back) LeSean McCoy said he had a high ankle sprain and came out there cutting and stuff," the 28-year-old Jackson said on Pro Football Live. McCoy was listed as day-to-day with the injury prior to Jacksonville's 10-3 win over Buffalo in the AFC wild-card game.

Jackson plans to keep his guard up with Brady heading into the third-seeded Jaguars' road tilt with the top-seeded New England Patriots on Sunday (3:05 p.m. ET) in the AFC Championship Game.

"We have to go rush the quarterback," Jackson said. "Also we have to make sure we press the pocket up the middle because he likes to step up in the middle or that's where he feels comfortable standing behind that center. That's what I told our (defensive) line. We have to make sure that we create pressure, have to rally and tackle and just frustrate him. He is 40, so we can hit him."

Brady was present at the start of Thursday's practice session, one day after the Boston Herald reported that he jammed his throwing hand during practice after someone accidentally ran into him. X-rays showed no structural damage.
