Reports: Cleveland Browns to name Eliot Wolf assistant GM

The Cleveland Browns will name Eliot Wolf as the team's assistant general manager, multiple outlets reported on Wednesday.

The Browns are offering a four-year contract, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, citing a source.

Wolf, who is the son of Hall of Fame general manager Ron Wolf, is the third former Green Bay Packers executive recently to head to the Browns staff -- joining current GM John Dorsey and vice president of football operations Alonzo Highsmith.

The 35-year-old Wolf met with Dorsey on Tuesday after the Packers elected to hire Brian Gutekunst as their general manager.

"Obviously, the people up there (Green Bay) don't think he's worthy, or they would've hired him," Ron Wolf told ESPN earlier this week.

The younger Wolf, who reportedly had a job opportunity in Oakland with former Packers executive and current general manager Reggie McKenzie, had been the director of football operations in Green Bay since 2016.

Wolf had been with the team since 2004, when he joined the team as a pro personnel assistant under then coach/general manager Mike Sherman.
