New York Jets cornerback Rashard Robinson was arrested for possession of edible marijuana after he was pulled over for careless driving last month.

According to the Hanover Township (N.J.) police report, Robinson's 2018 Mercedes Benz smelled like marijuana at the time he was pulled over on Dec. 15 in Morris County. Police then found "THC infused Peanut Budda Buddah Candy" in the 22-year-old's possession.

A spokesman for Hanover police told NJ Advance Media on Wednesday that Robinson did not appear for his initial court date on Monday. Should Robinson fail to show for his next court date on Jan. 29, a warrant will be issued for his arrest.

"This is a pending legal matter, and we will not have any comment," a Jets spokesman said.

The Jets acquired Robinson from the San Francisco 49ers at the trade deadline in October in exchange for a fifth-round pick. The 6-foot-1, 177-pound Robinson had two tackles on just 20 snaps over six games with New York and was made inactive for the final two contests of the season.

A failed drug test and poor grades in 2014 got Robinson suspended indefinitely by LSU. He was kicked out of the school after a June 2015 arrest for unauthorized entry into a teammate's apartment.
