Dec. 26 (UPI) -- Legendary Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson is making his best case to be signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars. You miss 100 percent of the shots you don't take.
Johnson posted a message on Monday night to his Twitter account. He was offering his services to the AFC playoff contenders and AFC South champs.
"@Jaguars We both follow each other, I'm 3hrs away, I'm in shape, STILL have the best footwork ever & can be at practice tomorrow, don't need a contract just line Ramsey or Bouye in bump-n-run so i can get my timing together," Johnson tweeted.
Johnson, 39, was a two-time All-Pro and a six-time Pro Bowl selection during his 11-year NFL tenure. He spent the first decade of his career with the Bengals, before signing with the New England Patriots in 2011. The Patriots lost to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI that postseason.

Jacksonville has Marqise Lee, Allen Hurns, Dede Westbrook, Keelan Cole, Larry Pinkard and Jaydon Mickens at wide receiver on its unofficial depth chart. The Jaguars put Allen Robinson and Arrelious Benn on injured reserve earlier this year.

Cole, who leads the Jaguars with 715 receiving yards this season, injured his ankle in Sunday's loss to the San Francisco 49ers. He did come back into the contest and finished the day with six catches for 108 yards. Hurns and Lee were inactive for the loss, as they both are also dealing with ankle issues.
Wide receiver Jaelen Strong also suffered a torn ACL during Sunday's setback.
