Chiefs' Tamba Hali gives pass rushing lessons to Chargers' Joey Bosa

Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Veteran defender Tamba Hali gave pass rushing tips to Los Angeles Chargers star Joey Bosa after Saturday's game.

That's not something you want to see if say, you are a member of the Kansas City Chiefs' offensive line.

Bosa has been wrecking NFL offensive linemen since joining the league via the 2016 NFL Draft. The 6 foot 5, 269 pound pass rusher didn't have a quarterback takedown in the Chargers' 30-13 loss Saturday to the Chiefs, but he does have 11.5 sacks this season. Bosa had 10.5 sacks in 2016.

When the AFC West rivals were shaking hands after the game, Bosa and Hali found each other. They dropped their helmets and Hali mimicked some game action for the youngster. They practice some arm movements and different techniques, used for getting to the opposing quarterback. The duo then took a photo together.

It's unlikely that Chiefs offensive lineman or quarterbacks want Bosa getting tips on how to wreck their game plan. The teams face-off at least twice every year.

Hali went to Penn State, while Bosa is from Ohio State. Larry Johnson is an assistant head coach and defensive line coach for the Buckeyes and coached Bosa. The former Nittany Lions linebacker was previously the defensive ends coach and special teams coordinator at Penn State, where he coached Hali.

Bosa told reporters at the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine that he liked watching Hali, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters after the game that he wasn't bothered or surprised by the moment between Hali and Bosa.

"Not at all. You see Von Miller has that offseason program that he does," Reid said. "He gets all the pass rushers together and works like a camp. Listen they all pick each other's minds, they do the same things as coaches. You try to pick a guys mind on a certain thing that you've seen. The fact that [Joey] Bosa wants to get better is a real tribute to him and the game. That's what makes our game great. For Tamba, for being an elder statesman and to be able to share it, I think that's something special to. The unique bond that these players have in this league is what makes it such a great thing."
