Jason Kelce: Philadelphia Eagles C gets cleated, kicks trash can

Dec. 15 (UPI) -- Pro Bowl center Jason Kelce took out his frustration on a trash can Thursday at Philadelphia Eagles practice.

He kicked the can, literally, after being cleated.

Video of the incident shows Kelce doing an offensive line drill. He becomes upset and starts pacing. The 6 foot 3, 282 pound center then sprints toward a soda shaped recycling bin and boots it as hard as possible. Kelce, 30, then walks over and swings the door open, before leaving the facility.

The seven-year veteran has started all 13 games this season for the Eagles. Kelce hasn't missed a start since the 2014 season. He joined the Eagles as a sixth-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. Kelce was not on Thursday's injury report for Philadelphia. His shin was bleeding from the cleating.

He later told reporters that he was "an idiot" for the exploit.

"What happened is I'm an idIot," the center said, according to NBC Sports Philadelphia. "You would think at 30-years-old I would be able to control myself a little more than that."

"You hit your thumb with a hammer then throw the hammer halfway across the yard because of that," Kelce said, according to the team website.

Kelce's teammate Chris Long joked that there will be a memorial service for the trash can on Tuesday.

Guard Stefen Wisniewski was limited with an ankle injury at Thursday's session. Eagles coach Doug Pederson said the injured guard is day-to-day but should be fine for Week 15.

The Eagles face the New York Giants at 1 p.m. Sunday in an NFC East clash at MetLife Stadium.
