Dec. 8 (UPI) -- The Arizona Cardinals have promoted safety Harlan Miller to the active roster. Arizona also placed safety Rudy Ford on injured reserve in a corresponding transaction. The Cardinals announced the moves on Thursday.
Miller, 23, entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick by the Cardinals in the 2016 NFL Draft. The 6-foot, 182-pound defensive back played in one game and was inactive for another game this season after he was promoted to the active roster on Nov. 13. He had six tackles and an interception in two games last season, but spent the majority of his rookie campaign with the Cardinals' practice unit.
Miller will wear No. 34 for Arizona.
Dillon was a fifth-round pick by the Houston Texans in the 2016 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound defender played in five games last season before landing on injured reserve on Oct. 19. Dillon had 165 tackles, six passes defended, five interceptions and two forced fumbles in 48 games at West Virginia. The Texans cut Dillon on Sept. 2, after the preseason.
Miller is listed at strong safety behind Budda Baker on the Cardinals' unofficial depth chart. The Cardinals have Tyrann Mathieu and Antoine Bethea listed at free safety.
