Tampa Bay Buccaneers place OL starters Demar Dotson, Ali Marpet on IR

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost two offensive line starters for the rest of the season as the team placed tackle Demar Dotson and center Ali Marpet on injured reserve Wednesday.

Dotson and Marpet each started all 11 games for Tampa Bay (4-7) this season.

Dotson and Marpet both left Sunday's 34-20 loss against the Atlanta Falcons with knee injuries. Dotson did return later in the game.

The Bucs also promoted tight end Alan Cross, defensive end Patrick O'Connor and wide receiver Bobo Wilson from the practice squad to the active roster and signed cornerback Deji Olatoye.

The 6-foot-1, 235-pound Cross has played in three games for Tampa Bay this season, with one start, catching two passes for 11 yards. He spent the past eight weeks on the practice squad.

The 6-4, 270-pound O'Connor was signed to Tampa Bay's practice squad on Oct. 9. He originally entered the league as a seventh-round pick by the Detroit Lions in the 2017 draft.

The 5-9, 186-pound Wilson has spent this season on Tampa Bay's practice squad. He originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Buccaneers during the this past offseason.

The 6-1, 205-pound Olatoye played in one game for the Bucs this season. In his career, Olatoye has played in 13 regular-season games, with two starts, recording 17 tackles, four passes defensed and one interception. He also played in three postseason contests with the Falcons in 2016.

On Tuesday, the Bucs released tight end Luke Stocker and defensive end Darryl Tapp.

In addition, the team announced Wednesday that cornerback Maurice Fleming, defensive end Patrick Gamble, running back Dare Ogunbowale and tackle Brad Seaton were signed to the practice squad. Cornerback David Rivers was released from the practice squad.
