The San Francisco 49ers waived defensive end Datone Jones, the team announced Tuesday.
Jones recorded six tackles in three games with the 49ers since signing a one-year deal on Oct. 24.
The 27-year-old Jones was a first-round pick of the Green Bay Packers in 2013. He registered 80 tackles and nine sacks in 62 career regular-season games.
The Minnesota Vikings signed Jones to a one-year contract in March but released him on Sept. 8. He signed with the Detroit Lions Oct. 10 and was released eight days later.
