Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Week 11 is here and it's time to trim the fat off of your fantasy football roster. When you do that, you'll have room for some insurance for your best players and spots for high-upside guys who could help you in the playoffs.
Here are my top waiver wire additions for Week 11.
Week 11 is the final time for bye week blues, meaning it's the last time you should have to worry about possibly covering for one of your stars during a weekly matchup.
That means you should be using the waiver wire for a different reason. It is time to let go of some of your non-contributors. Those players who have sat on your bench all season long getting dusty. You can cut them from your squad and add some lottery tickets, but you should also think about the possibility of one of your players getting injured. Who would be next in line to get work? And lastly, who has a great playoff schedule? All of these questions should be asked now on a weekly basis, regardless of if you are already well on your way into the postseason, or if you are fighting to clinch a spot for a run at a fantasy football title.
Here are the players I'm targeting to add on my Week 11 waiver wire and some of the players I'm willing to drop.
Where has this Case Keenum been for all of my life? The veteran gunslinger is on fire lately for the Minnesota Vikings. Keenum has finished the week as a top 5 play at the position in his last two starts. In Week 10 he completed 72.4 percent of his throws for 304 yards, a career-high four scores and two interceptions. He has also been sacked just once in his last four starts. Keenum is obviously a worthy pickup if you need a streamer to cover for the Week 11 bye, but he could also be a worthy stash if you have the room on your bench.
Don't walk, run to pick up Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams. This is a perfect example of a player you want on your bench. With Aaron Jones set to miss about a month of time due to a knee injury and Ty Montgomery dealing with a rib injury, Williams might be in line for a feature back opportunity. It's very hard to find that in Week 11 of the fantasy football season. If your team is built for streaming RB2s, he should fit right in that conversation going forward.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Marqise Lee has been a pleasant surprise this season in fantasy football. The fourth-year wide out has four games with at least 10 targets this season and has scored in back-to-back games. The Jaguars also face the Cleveland Browns in Week 11, putting his name in the WR3 conversation in deeper leagues.
If you didn't pick up Greg Olsen last week, you might be too late. This is going to be a guy that can significantly help you in the fantasy football playoffs. The Carolina Panthers tight end might even help get you into the postseason. After landing on injured reserve in September, Olsen was dropped in the majority of redraft leagues. Now he could be back in Week 12, following the Panthers' Week 11 bye. Even if your league doesn't start tight ends, you should try to find a spot for this pass catcher on your roster. Olsen did not miss a start from 2012 through Week 2 of this season before his injury. He also had three consecutive seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards, entering 2017. Expect him to return to a large role in this offense, especially after the departure of Kelvin Benjamin.
