New Orleans Saints cornerback Delvin Breaux will remain on injured reserve for the rest of the season following a setback sustained in his recovery from a broken fibula, coach Sean Payton announced Thursday.

Breaux had been designated to return from the injury, which he sustained in training camp. He will be a restricted free agent next season.

The 28-year-old Breaux saw his 2016 season derailed by a broken fibula in Week 1. He wound up playing just six games because of leg and shoulder injuries and finished with 21 tackles.
