Fantasy Football: Best Week 9 add/drops from waiver wire

Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Darren McFadden and Alfred Morris are the most important players of our add/drop column for the Week 9 waiver wire once again.

McFadden and Morris find themselves in the spotlight again after Monday's news of Ezekiel Elliott's suspension being reinforced.

Although Elliott is expected to appeal, he is currently suspended for six games. That means Morris and McFadden are set to duel it out for a huge role behind one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. If one of them wins out, they could prove to be a weekly RB1. You don't often find that in Week 9 of the fantasy football season.

This week also includes bye weeks for six teams, including: the Chciago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Chargers, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers.

That means there are a ton of studs that need to be benched and, even if you don't have a player on any of those squads, you should keep an eye on the waiver wire to prohibit your opponent from finding a replacement player against you in your weekly matchup.

Here are the players I'm targeting to add on my Week 9 waiver wire and some of the players I'm willing to drop.

QUARTERBACK

Yes, he is a dart throw, but Teddy Bridgewater isn't a bad target for Week 9. The Minnesota Vikings quarterback is reportedly healthy and could return to the Vikings' game day roster in Week 10. Bridgewater has resumed practice and should provide a spark for the Vikings' offense upon his arrival. The former Pro Bowl selection has the talent to be a difference maker in your lineup. You should definitely keep him in mind if you were an Aaron Rodgers owner and don't be afraid to add him to your bench if you own Alex Smith, Carson Wentz or Derek Carr, as those players have Week 10 byes.

RUNNING BACK

While McFadden and Morris must be added for obvious reasons, don't overlook Kenyan Drake. The Miami Dolphins running back has been a career backup but will immediately get his chance this weekend. Damien Williams is second in rushing among Dolphins running backs, but has just 32 yards on 12 carries. Drake has 25 yards on 10 receptions. Last season, Williams had 23 receptions for 249 yards and three scores. Drake had 179 rushing yards compared to Williams' 115 yards on 25 carries. Drake also averaged 5.4 yards per carry, compared to Williams' 3.3 yards per tote. I think Drake is the home run play here, but he likely has a ceiling as a mid-range RB2.

WIDE RECEIVER

Tennessee Titans rookie wide receiver Corey Davis is back at practice this week after missing five games. The No. 5 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft had seven catches for 73 yards on the season. Look for the Titans to get creative in getting this talented pass catcher the ball and establish another option for quarterback Marcus Mariota. Davis could be groomed into a WR3 for your lineup if he gets the opportunity to showoff his skills.

TIGHT END

Hello, Jack Doyle. The Indianapolis Colts tight end had a huge game in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals, making 12 catches for 121 yards and a touchdown on 14 targets. He now has 32 targets in his last three appearances. Doyle belongs on the streaming radar, but he could rise into the TE1 category if he keeps getting these impressive target numbers.
