Carson Wentz: Philadelphia Eagles quarterback wins NFC Offensive Player of Week honors

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his four-touchdown passing performance in Monday night's win over the Washington Redskins.

Wentz finished with 268 passing yards and one interception, and he had a career-best 63 rushing yards in the 34-24 victory as the Eagles improved to 6-1. He leads the NFL with a career-high 17 touchdowns this season.

The NFL also announced Wednesday that Oakland Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper took the AFC offensive honor in Week 7 as he made 11 catches for 210 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 31-30 comeback win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Chicago Bears safety Eddie Jackson was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week after his 75-yard fumble return for a touchdown and 76-yard interception return for a score in the 17-3 win over the Carolina Panthers.

Tennessee Titans safety Kevin Byard earned the AFC defensive award for his three-interception performance in the 12-9 win against the winless Cleveland Browns.

The AFC Special Teams Player of the Week went to Los Angeles Chargers receiver/returner Travis Benjamin, who scored on a 65-yard punt return in the 21-0 shutout of the Denver Broncos. He also had a return for 20 yards and added a 42-yard touchdown reception late in the game.

Minnesota Vikings kicker Kai Forbath took the NFC special teams honor after making all six of his field-goal attempts, including from 52 and 51 yards, in the 24-16 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
