Oct. 21 (UPI) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars have promoted wide receiver Jaydon Mickens from the practice squad to the 53-man active roster.

Jacksonville announced the move on Saturday. The Jaguars waived first-year wide receiver Max McCaffrey in a corresponding transaction.

Mickens, who will wear No. 85 for Jacksonville, signed with the Raiders in 2016 as an undrafted rookie free agent. He spent the 2016 season on the Raiders' practice squad before being waived on Sept. 2, 2016. He signed with the Jaguars' practice squad on Sept. 19.

Mickens, 23, had 2,187 yards and 12 touchdowns on 203 catches in 53 games at the University of Washington. His 203 catches are No. 2 in Huskies history. Mickens also served as a return specialist at Washington.

Jacksonville needs depth at wide receiver after losing Allen Robinson and Dede Westbrook to injuries. Marqise Lee is also dealing with a knee injury and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Lee leads the Jaguars with 291 receiving yards on 40 targets and 20 receptions. He has yet to score a touchdown. Tight end Marcedes Lewis leads the Jaguars with three receiving scores on the season.
