Logan Paulsen: San Francisco 49ers sign tight end, cut cornerback Leon Hall

Oct. 20 (UPI) -- The San Francisco 49ers have signed tight end Logan Paulsen.

San Francisco announced the move on Thursday. The 49ers released veteran cornerback Leon Hall in a corresponding move.

Paulsen, 30, was released by the 49ers on Tuesday. He joined the team on a one-year deal. The 6-foot-5, 246-pound pass catcher entered the NFL in 2010 with the Washington Redskins. He played five seasons with the Redskins before playing 2016 with the Chicago Bears. Paulsen appeared in the 49ers' first six games this season but only had one target and did not register a catch.

For his career, the UCLA product has 82 receptions for 816 yards and six touchdowns.

San Francisco has George Kittle, Garrett Celek and Cole Hikutini on its depth chart at tight end. Hikutini was promoted to the team's active roster on Oct. 14 from the practice squad.

Hall, 32, signed with the 49ers on Oct. 10. He was inactive for the 49ers' Week 6 loss to the Washington Redskins. The former first-round pick played his first nine seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals before joining the New York Giants last season.

The 0-6 49ers host the Dallas Cowboys at 4:05 p.m. Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
