The San Francisco 49ers released veteran cornerback Leon Hall and re-signed tight end Logan Paulsen on Thursday.

Hall was let go just nine days after signing with the club. He was inactive for last week's game against Washington and practiced with the club four times.

A former first-round draft pick in 2007, Hall spent his first nine seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals before playing for the New York Giants last season.

Paulsen, who was released by the 49ers on Tuesday, was signed to a one-year deal. He appeared in San Francisco's first six games but did not have a catch.

In his seventh season, the 6-foot-5, 268-pound Paulsen set career highs with 28 receptions and three touchdowns with the Redskins in 2013. He has 82 catches in 97 career games.
