Jacksonville Jaguars cut kicker Jason Myers, sign Josh Lambo

Oct. 17 (UPI) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars cut kicker Jason Myers and signed Josh Lambo to their 53-man active roster.

Jacksonville announced the signing on Tuesday morning.

Lambo, 26, entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie free agent signing with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2015. He was released on Sept. 2. Lambo made 52 of his 64 attempts while kicking for the Chargers, good for an 81.3 percent clip. He made 70-of-78 extra point attempts.

Myers made 11 of his 15 field goal attempts this season and was 0-for-3 on kicks longer than 50 yards. He made 15 of his 17 extra point attempts. The 26-year-old entered the NFL in 2015 with the Jaguars.

Lambo left the Chargers after getting beaten out by Younghoe Koo in a kicking competition. Koo was later cut and the Chargers signed Nick Novak.

Myers made a 41-yard field goal in the Jaguars' Week 6 win against the Los Angeles Chargers. He missed twice from 54 yards in the loss. The Jaguars (3-3) face off against their AFC South foes Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. The 1 p.m. contest is at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Lambo has made his last four field goal attempts, including one try from 53 yards.
