Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has been cleared to practice for the Minnesota Vikings.

A source told ESPN Monday morning that Bridgewater underwent a physical exam Monday in Dallas. The same doctor who performed Bridgewater's knee surgery last year performed the physical.

Bridgewater can begin practice on Wednesday, according to the report. The fourth-year quarterback made the Pro Bowl and led the Vikings to the playoffs in 2015. He suffered a dislocated knee and a torn ACL during the 2016 preseason.

He is currently on the physically unable to perform list (PUP).

NFL Network reported that the Vikings will activate Bridgewater this week or next week. The team expects him to play this year, according to the report.

Bridgewater kept it concise with a Twitter update on Monday, writing, "Thank you."

Minnesota was active in the front office after Bridgewater's injury two seasons ago, trading for quarterback Sam Bradford. Bradford posted a league-best 71.6 completion percentage and passed for 3,877 yards, 20 scores and five interceptions in 15 games last season. Bradford has played in just two games this season after aggravating his left knee injury.

The quarterback traveled to New York last week to receive treatments on the knee, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Case Keenum has been starting in place of Bradford and Bridgewater. This season he has completed 64.2 percent of his throws for 1,134 yards, five scores and one interception. He owns a 2-2 record as a starter this season. Keenum completed 63.2 percent of his throws for 239 yards, one score and one interception Sunday in the Vikings' 23-10 win against the Green Bay Packers.

"I don't think anything of [the Bradford and Bridgewater situations],'' Keenum told the Pioneer Press Sunday. "I'm playing quarterback and I love to play quarterback...There's a lot of externals in this business...But I don't have to answer that question. I can go out and play quarterback and have fun.''

The Vikings host the Baltimore Ravens at 1 p.m. Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
