Oct. 14 (UPI) -- The Oakland Raiders have signed linebacker Shilique Calhoun to their 53-man active roster.
Oakland announced the transaction on Saturday. The Raiders also placed cornerback Antonio Hamilton on the injured reserve list in a corresponding move.
Calhoun, 25, originally joined the Raiders in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. The 6 foot 4, 250 pound defender had five total tackles, a pass defensed and 0.5 sacks in 10 game last season before landing on injured reserve on Dec. 23 due to a knee injury.
He also had 131 tackles in 54 games at Michigan State. Calhoun ranks No. 2 in Spartans history with 27 sacks.
The Raiders cut the linebacker during final roster cuts in September. He was later added to the team's practice squad.
Oakland has Marquel Lee, Cory James, Bruce Irvin leading its most recent depth chart at linebacker. Lee did not practice this week after being carted off during Sunday's game with an ankle injury. He was a fifth round pick by the Raiders in the 2017 NFL Draft.
LB Shilique Calhoun has been added to the active roster.
