Demetrius McCray: Oakland Raiders sign CB to 53-man roster

Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Cornerback Demetrius McCray has signed with the Oakland Raiders.

Oakland announced the signing on Tuesday. The Raiders signed linebacker Deontae Skinner and terminated the practice squad contract of linebacker Boseko Lokombo in corresponding roster moves.

McCray was a free agent after spending the 2017 training camp with the Seattle Seahawks. He was originally a seventh round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2013 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound defender spent three seasons with the Jaguars before landing with the Seahawks.

McCray, 26, has 73 combined tackles, 12 special teams stops and six passes defensed in 46 career contests. He has 16 starts during his career. The Appalachian State product had 21 tackles and a passed defensed during the 2015 season for the Jaguars, appearing in 14 games.

Skinner has had NFL stops with the New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants. He has seen time in 11 games during his career.

Oakland currently has David Amerson, Sean Smith, T.J. Carrie, Gareon Conley, Dexter McDonald and Antonio Hamilton on its depth chart at cornerback. Amerson recently suffered his third known concussion in the last two years.
