The Pro Bowler became a first-time father when his wife, Julie, delivered his son, Cooper, on Sept. 29. Cooper was born at 9 pounds and 11 ounces. Kirk Cousins and Julie Cousins were wed in 2014.
On Tuesday, Kirk Cousins posted his first social media photo of his son. The photo featured the quarterback resting in a recliner, with his son on his chest and dog Bentley taking a nap on his lap.
"Bye Week 2017 #paternityleave," Kirk Cousins wrote on the caption for the Instagram post.
The next day, Kirk Cousins posted another photo of the trio napping. He was lying down with his arms above his head, mimicking the baby. Cooper was nestled in between the two.
"All three of us got to sleep in today on our bye week!" the quarterback wrote on the post.
On Friday, Kirk Cousins made another post. He was sporting a Michigan State shirt and holding his son. He said he needs to get Cooper some Spartan gear.
He posted another photo of his son with his wife. Bentley also made a cameo in that shot.
"Bentley's now the 3rd wheel, and he's not so sure about it," Kirk Cousins wrote.
He posted his third photo of the day from Farmwell Hunt in Ashburn, Va. In that shot, he walked while wearing a baby carrier on his chest. Bentley's leash was attached to the apparatus.
"Dude just drove by & yelled "Congrats" as I crossed the street. I'm in full Dad-mode," Kirk Cousins wrote in the caption. "A wise man once told me: 'your swag is having no swag.' #PaternityLeave."
The Redskins return to the field Oct. 15 for a matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. The quarterback doesn't leave town until the Redskins battle the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 23 at Lincoln Financial Field.
