Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins is enjoying his bye week with newborn son, Cooper.
Cousins posted a photo on Instagram Tuesday showing off his plans as the Washington Redskins don't have a game this weekend.
"Bye Week 2017 #paternityleave," Cousins wrote.
The picture featured Cousins lounging back in a comfortable chair with Cooper resting in his right arm and his dog Bentley sleeping on his lap.

"Being that the baby came right before the bye week, we're going to stay put right here in our townhouse in Ashburn," Cousins told Grant and Danny on 106.7 The Fan. "No beach, but I'll still be reading and relaxing and probably watching some playoff baseball."
"Just trying to spend some time with my family and just kind of check out a little bit."
Kirk and Julie Cousins welcomed Cooper on Friday night. He is the couple's first child. Cooper weighed in at 9 pounds, 11 ounces. The couple married in June of 2014.
Cousins missed Redskins practice Friday because his wife was in labor. Redskins offensive lineman Brandon Scherff also welcomed a baby boy on Friday. Both players returned to practice on Saturday.
"It's a special experience," Cousins told the Washington Post. "I texted the coaches afterwards and said, 'That was a top experience of my life so far.' That says it all."
Washington lost its Monday Night Football matchup 29-20 to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Redskins' next game is at 1 p.m. Oct. 15 against the San Francisco 49ers at FedExField in Landover, Md.
Cousins currently sports a career-best 107.6 quarterback rating. He has completed 66.1 percent of his passes for 1,004 yards, seven scores and one interception.
