Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Bryce Treggs has joined the Cleveland Browns' 53-man active roster.

The wide receiver was signed off of the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad. Cleveland announced the signing on Wednesday morning. The Browns waived wide receiver Jordan Leslie with an injury designation in a corresponding move.

Leslie had one catch for 26 yards in two games as a reserve this season for the Browns. He suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday's 31-7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Treggs, 23, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent signing by the San Francisco 49ers. He had three catches for 80 yards and two carries for seven yards in nine games last season for the Eagles. He spent the first four weeks of this season on the Eagles' practice squad.

The 6 foot, 185 pound pass catcher left Cal as the school's third-ranked pass catcher, with 195 career receptions. He also ranked No. 4 in Cal history with 2,506 receiving yards.

Cleveland currently has Rashard Higgins, Sammie Coates, Kenny Britt, Ricardo Louis, Kasen Williams and Treggs on its depth chart at wide receiver.

The Browns host the New York Jets at 1 p.m. Sunday at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland. The Jets are tied for allowing the third-most receiving scores to opposing wide receivers this season (5).
