MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Vikings rookie running back Dalvin Cook left Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions with a knee injury after trying to make a cut on a third-quarter run.

Cook cut against a defender and went down, fumbling in the process. Cook was down on the field for a few minutes before walking off on his own. Moving slowly while under the eye of athletic trainer Eric Sugarman, Cook went to the sideline and continued to walk straight to the locker room.

The team quickly announced he was out for the remainder of the game with a knee injury. His left knee appeared to give out on him as he made the cut.

Cook entered the game second in the NFL in rushing with 288 yards. The second-round draft pick, No. 41 overall, Cook had 13 carries for 66 yards and a touchdown before leaving. He was replaced by Latavius Murray.
