CLEVELAND -- Cincinnati Bengals tight end Ryan Hewitt suffered a knee injury on the first play of the third quarter against the Cleveland Browns and did not return.

Hewitt was hurt when he was upended by Browns safety Jabrill Peppers after catching a pass for a 16-yard gain to the Cincinnati 41. The play started a drive that resulted in a 41-yard field goal by Randy Bullock, giving the Bengals a 24-0 lead.

The injury to Hewitt left the Bengals in a precarious position at tight end because starter Tyler Eifert is already out with a back injury.
