Carolina Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin practiced fully Thursday and is expected to play in Sunday's game at the New England Patriots.

Benjamin dodged what appeared to be a serious injury to his left knee that forced him out of last week's loss to New Orleans, but an MRI exam revealed no structural damage.

"I expect him to play on Sunday barring any setback," said coach Ron Rivera following Thursday's practice, per the Charlotte Observer.

Benjamin, who tore the ACL in his left knee in 2015, has nine receptions for 110 yards this season for Carolina (2-1).

His return will provide a much-needed boost to the passing game. Tight end Greg Olsen, who has surpassed 1,000 yards receiving in each of the past three seasons, is on injured reserve with a foot injury and is expected to be out until at least mid-November.

Benjamin, the No. 28 overall pick in the 2014 draft, had 73 receptions in his rookie season and 63 catches in 2016. He has 16 touchdown receptions in 35 career games.
