The Arizona Cardinals wide receiver was running a route in the fourth quarter Monday during the sequence. Arizona trailed the Cowboys 21-14 with 10:41 remaining.
Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer stepped back in the pocket during the play, briefly scanning the field before tossing a 24-yard lob downfield.
Scandrick eyed the pass and jumped up to intercept the ball. But Fitzgerald snagged the ball away from the defensive back and juggled it to the ground for a phenomenal reception.
"I felt like he almost caught it and I kind of got it out of his hands and you know I was able to concentrate and get my arm underneath the ball. Fortunately it was more luck than anything," Fitzgerald told reporters after the game.
Fitzgerald, 34, led all receivers with 149 yards and a score on 13 receptions in the 28-17 loss. He currently sits at No. 3 in the NFL with 34 targets. He has 22 catches for 244 yards and a score through three games.
