DePaola, 30, had eight tackles on special teams in 48 appearances during his three previous seasons with the Buccaneers. He comes in to compete with long snapper Garrison Sanborn. Sanborn spent his last nine seasons with the Buffalo Bills before joining the Buccaneers in March.

Adjei-Barimah, 25, had 62 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble in 23 games for the Buccaneers in the last two seasons.

"Humility is where the quest for wisdom begins," Adjei-Barimah tweeted Tuesday morning.

DePaola tore his ACL on January 1 in the Buccaneers' season finale 17-16 win against the Carolina Panthers. Adjei-Barimah had surgery last week for a patellar fracture.

"It's unfortunate for Jude. It's the same injury that he had last year," Buccaneers coach Dirk Koetter told reporters last week. "They tried - his rehab and we thought he was past it. Again, it's an unfortunate part of the game for him. It wasn't even really much of a contact injury when it happened here this second time and it's just unfortunate for him."

Adjei-Barimah was also suspended for four games in November for violating the NFL's policy on performance enhancing substances.

Tampa Bay currently has Brent Grimes, Vernon Hargreaves, Javien Elliott, Ryan Smith and Josh Robinson on its depth chart at cornerback. Hargreaves was the No. 11 overall pick while Smith was a fourth rounder in the 2016 NFL Draft. Robinson joined the Buccaneers last offseason and re-signed with the franchise in March.
