The 6-foot-2, 305-pound defender originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent signing on May 6, 2016 by the Denver Broncos. He was released on Aug. 29, 2016.

Heurtelou had 52 tackles, four tackles for a loss, a half-sack and a fumble recovery in 26 games in two seasons at the University of Miami. He played at Scottsdale Community College in 2013 in Arizona.

Heurtelou will wear jersey No. 72 for the Packers.

Green Bay currently has Mike Daniels, Brian Price and Montravius Adams listed at defensive tackle on its unofficial depth chart.

The Packers ranked No. 22 in total defense last season. Green Bay had the eighth-best rush defense, but owned the second-worst pass defense in the NFL in 2016.

The Packers face the Broncos at 9 p.m. Saturday at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver.
