Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Wide receivers Ed Eagan and Canaan Severin are now members of the New York Giants.
New York announced the signings on Friday. Eagan and Severin replace waived/injured players Keeon Johnson and Kevin Snead. Eagan and Severin have never appeared in an NFL regular season contest. Severin entered the pro ranks in 2016 as an undrafted rookie free agent signing by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He suffered an injured shoulder in training camp and spent the Steelers' season on injured reserve. He had two catches for 24 yards in the Steelers' 20-12 preseason win against the Giants on August 11 at MetLife Stadium. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound athlete had 102 catches and scored 13 times during his college career at Virginia. Severin was waived Monday.
