New York Giants add depth at receiver, linebacker with two more signings

The New York Giants signed wide receiver Andrew Turzilli and linebacker Chris Casher to the 90-man roster on Monday.

The newest additions take the place of wide receiver Kevin Norwood, who was waived with a hip injury, and tight end Colin Thompson, who was waived with a non-football injury (appendectomy).

The 6-foot-4, 197-pound Turzilli played in three games with the Tennessee Titans in 2015, catching two passes for 25 yards. He signed with the Titans that year as a rookie from Rutgers.

Turzilli spent a month on the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad in 2015 and was signed by the Detroit Lions to their practice squad on Dec. 20 and to their roster on Jan. 9. He was waived on May 11.

The 6-4, 260-pound Casher was with the Oakland Raiders from May 8 to Aug. 4 as an undrafted rookie. He began his collegiate career at Florida State, where in 2013 he played for a Seminoles team that won the national championship. He played his senior season in 2016 at Faulkner University in Alabama, where in 10 games he had 60 tackles and 8.5 sacks.
