Cincinnati announced the move Wednesday. The Bengals also released wide receiver Jake Kumerow.

Monday entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie free agent signing in 2016 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Duke product was waived after the third preseason game last year. He signed with the Kansas City Chiefs on May 9. The Chiefs waived Monday on July 6.

Last preseason, Monday had 471 yards on 11 punts, for a 42.8-yard average. He had one punt inside the 20-yard line and no touchbacks, with a net average of 38.5 yards. Monday is listed at 6-foot-4, 210 pounds.

In college, Monday was a four-time All-ACC selection and a four-time Academic All-ACC selection.

Kumerow was released with a waived/injured designation. If he clears waivers Thursday, he'll revert to the Bengals' reserve/injured list. Kumerow suffered an ankle injury on the first day of training camp and hasn't practiced since. He initially joined the Bengals in 2015.

Cincinnati is loaded at wide receiver with A.J. Green, Brandon LaFell, John Ross, Tyler Boyd, Cody Core, Josh Malone, Alonzo Russell, Alex Erickson and Chris Brown, not leaving much room for Kumerow.

Kevin Huber is the Bengals' starting punter. Huber averaged 46.3 yards per punt last season. He made the Pro Bowl in 2014. He's playing on the final year of his five-year contract with the franchise.
