The San Francisco 49ers claimed wide receiver Tim Patrick off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens, the team announced on Monday.

Fellow wideout B.J. Johnson III was waived with an injury designation to open a roster spot for Patrick, who originally was signed by the Ravens as an undrafted rookie free agent in May.

Patrick recorded team-leading totals in catches (45), receiving yards (711) and touchdowns (five) with Utah last season. The 23-year-old had 61 receptions for 888 yards and five scores in 22 career games for the Utes.

Johnson, who was nursing a hamstring injury, initially signed with San Francisco as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Georgia Southern. The 24-year-old reeled in 92 receptions for 1,377 yards and six touchdowns in his career with the Eagles.
