July 25 (UPI) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed third-year cornerback Stanley Jean-Baptiste.

Jacksonville announced the signing Tuesday. The New Orleans Saints picked Jean-Baptiste in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He also spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions. Kansas City signed the defensive back on May 19, before he was waived on June 15.

"I'm excited for another opportunity," Jean-Baptiste said in a team news release. "It's been a year since I've been on the field. I'm just happy to show what I can do. It feels really good to be back in Florida."

The 27-year-old last appeared in four games for the Saints in 2014. The University of Nebraska product had 74 tackles, seven interceptions, 22 passes defended and a sack in 36 career games for the Cornhuskers.

Jean-Baptiste originally enrolled at the school as a wide receiver, before transitioning to the defensive side. The Miami native attended Miami Central High School and Westlake (Davie, Fla.). He also went to North Carolina Tech Preparatory Christian Academy.
