Report: Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott involved in bar incident

July 17 (UPI) -- Dallas Cowboys star running back Ezekiel Elliott was involved in an incident Sunday at a Dallas bar, according to multiple reports.

Sources told 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher that the incident occurred at Clutch Bar & Restaurant on Cedar Springs Road. Fisher reported that the "altercation" involved a bouncer at the bar. A source confirmed the incident to the Dallas Morning News. ESPN also confirmed the report.

Fisher reported that the Cowboys are aware of the incident. Sources told Fisher that a person was punched, police were called and an ambulance arrived.

"We have not received information regarding an arrest," the Dallas Police said in a statement Monday, according to CBS DFW.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that a 30-year-old man was assaulted in the incdent, but police have not named a suspect in the case. Nkemakola Ibeneme told police he was punched in the nose, but did not know who assaulted him, according to the report.

An NFL spokesman told the Star-Telegram that the league is "aware of the matter and looking into it to understand the facts."

"On July 16, 2017, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Dallas officers were dispatched to a disturbance call in the 20500 block of Cedar Springs Road," the Dallas Police said in a statement to ESPN. "The disturbance involved a 30 year old male victim who stated he had been physically assaulted. According to the report, the victim did not know who assaulted him. The victim was transported to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. There were no arrests made for this offense, nor were there anyone listed on the report as a suspect. This investigation is on-going and we will update you as information becomes available. The incident is documented on case number 161917-2017."

Dallas Police also arrested a 36-year-old male at the same location for public intoxication in an unrelated call that same night.

The NFL has been investigating Elliott for nearly a year to find out if he violated the league's personal conduct policy in relation to a 2016 domestic violence accusation. Sources told ESPN that Elliott is preparing to submit a response to the league next week and that he could see a one or two game suspension.

Elliott was also involved in an incident on St. Patrick's Day. During that episode, Elliott is seen on video pulling down a woman's shirt public.

Sources told Fisher that Elliott's suspension will relate to the "cumulative nature of his behavior." Cowboys officials told NBC DFW that they haven't "heard anything about" a possible suspension.

No criminal charges have been filed against Elliott in relation to the domestic violence claims. The Columbus, Ohio city attorney's office declined to approve criminal charges in the matter in September. The former Ohio State star met with NFL investigators in October.

Elliott is the NFL's reigning rushing champion and entering his second season in the league.
