June 30 (UPI) -- Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Artie Burns was arrested Thursday in Miami Beach for driving on a suspended license.
Burns was driving an SUV with a suspended Florida license plate and was originally pulled over during a traffic stop, according to the police report. Burns was arrested and his vehicle was impounded. He was later released from police custody, according to Miami-Dade County Corrections records obtained by NFL.com.
Burns had more than $1,000 in unpaid tickets and didn't show up for a mandatory court date, according to SlaterScoops.com.
ESPN reported that Burns was pulled over in a black 2016 Cadillac Escalade. He was released on Friday.
The Steelers have yet to comment on the incident.

The University of Miami product was the No. 25 overall selection in the 2016 NFL Draft. He also attended Miami Northwestern High School. Burns turned 22-years-old last week.
He had 64 tackles, 14 passes defended and three interceptions in 16 games last season, starting three times for the Steelers.
