TMZ Sports reported that it obtained a receipt from the tight end and his party of 20 from this weekend at Shrine bar at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut. A PR rep from Shrine bar told the website that the receipt was authentic. The receipt read a subtotal of $102,407. It included 18 bottles of Ace of Spades Rose for $18,000, 15 bottles of Dom Perignon Rose for $27,000, 16 bottles of Grey Goose for $10,400 and much more.
"Don't always believe what you read," Gronkowski tweeted Monday. "This is where 100k + would go to before that."
The tweet included a photo of Gronk holding a $110,000 check for Boston Children's Hospital.
Gronkowski's friend, Robert Good, also refuted the report. Shrine Foxwoods posted videos of Gronkowski dancing shirtless early Sunday morning.
"Are you kidding me @RobGronkowski won't spend $20 in gas for his car no way he's spending $100k at a club #FakeNews," he tweeted.
Another fishy thing about the bill? The suggested tips at the bottom were for $184.33, $204.81 and $256.01. A 20 percent tip of the $102,407 tab would have been $20,481.40. A 20 percent tip of $1,024.07 would be $204.81.
Big Night Entertainment produced the event. A representative from the group told the Boston Globe that Gronkowski and his brother were in attendance and that Gronkowski is Flo Rida's "longtime friend." The rep also confirmed the party of 20 people.
Social media includes photos of Gronkowski and videos at the bar, where Flo Rida was performing. The bar's official social media accounts posted a video featuring 'Gronk' dancing at the party, but he wasn't holding a drink in any of the photos. He is seen drinking out of a large bottle and taking his shirt off in a TMZ video.
