New England Patriots sign third-round Derek Rivers

The New England Patriots signed their 2017 third-round pick, defensive end Derek Rivers, on Friday.

Rivers, 22, was selected 83rd overall out of Youngstown State.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Rivers was a two-time All-American and three-time All-Missouri Valley Conference selection. He finished his career with 173 total tackles and a school-record 41 sacks.
