Running back Ezekiel Elliott missed a second consecutive day of voluntary workouts with the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday after reportedly being involved in a car accident.

Elliott was away from the team after being a passenger in the car accident on Sunday. He was not seriously injured but reportedly was treated for a head injury.

Elliott was also involved in a car accident in January, before the Cowboys hosted the Green Bay Packers, but was uninjured.

ESPN reported Elliott would not take part in organized team activities due to Sunday's accident. Cowboys coach Jason Garrett is scheduled to address media Wednesday afternoon.

Elliott, 21, rushed for 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns as a rookie in 2016.

The NFL has been investigating Elliott for several months regarding allegations that caused police in Columbus, Ohio, to question him. A former girlfriend alleged Elliott forcibly pulled her out of a car.
