Former New England Patriots, Houston Texans DT Vince Wilfork still uncertain if he'll retire

Veteran defensive tackle and former New England Patriots stalwart Vince Wilfork said in a radio interview Wednesday that he is not retired.

Wilfork made his comments during a radio appearance on Sirius/XM's "Good Morning Football."

"Right now, I just want to make sure whatever decision I make ... I'm 100 percent confident in," he said. "And right now, the only thing I'm doing is enjoying the offseason like I normally do any other year. And I'm just taking my time with everything because I want to make the right decision."

Wilfork's 13th season ended with a 34-16 loss by the Houston Texans in the AFC Divisional playoff game on Jan. 14. Afterward, he said he thought he played in his last football game, but also said he would take the time to do his due diligence.

Wilfork spent his first 11 seasons and won two Super Bowl rings with the Patriots. He spent the last two seasons with the Texans, and GM Rick Smith said last month he had not spoken with the 35-year-old free agent since the season ended.

Wilfork was selected by the Patriots in the first round of the 2004 draft out of the University of Miami. Since entering the league, he has totaled 370 solo tackles and 16 sacks while being named to five Pro Bowls.
