Cleveland Browns' Jabrill Peppers signs participation agreement for rookie minicamp

Cleveland Browns safety Jabrill Peppers signed his participation agreement on Saturday and took part in day two of rookie minicamp practice.

Peppers, the No. 25 overall pick out of Michigan, sat out the first practice of minicamp on Friday because he had not signed the agreement that protects him in case of injury. The camp wraps up on Sunday.

"Those things happen," coach Hue Jackson said Friday of Peppers missing the first practice "And I'm sure it's disappointing for the young man, too. But that's just part of it and we'll work through that. We'll get him up to speed. He did a great job in meetings (Thursday) night. He's chomping at the bit and ready to go. So we'll get him out here soon.''

Peppers begins his career in Stage One of the NFL's drug program because of a dilute sample at the NFL Combine. On Friday, Peppers denied allegations by a fired ESPN Cleveland contributor that he was using illegal recreational drugs.

"No. No. Absolutely not, never in my life,'' Peppers told reporters. "Whatever drugs she said I've done, I've never done in my life.

"I mean, people can say whatever they want to say. This is my first time in Cleveland since they brought me out here, so I don't know what she's talking about. I just think people want to say what they say to make stories. I can't do anything about that. I came here to play football and help this great organization get back to prominence."
