New England Patriots will battle Oakland Raiders Nov. 19 in Mexico City

April 20 (UPI) -- Before the NFL's official schedule release for 2017, it was announced that the New England Patriots will face the Oakland Raiders in Week 11 in Mexico City.

The Sunday Night Football matchup has been known since last season, but was expected to be a Monday Night Football game. The Patriots' official Twitter account tweeted the news Thursday night.

New England will be the road team in the Nov. 19 contest at Estadio Azteca.

The Dallas Cowboys will battle the New York Giants in the first Sunday Night Football contest of the season. Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins will battle the Giants on Thanksgiving night at FedEx Field.

NJ Advance Media reported Thursday that the Philadelphia Eagles will battle the Giants on Sept. 24 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia and on Dec. 17 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
