Cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones of the Cincinnati Bengals yelled at a reporter on Monday in his first meeting with the media since his arrest in January on multiple misdemeanor charges.

Jones was incensed after he was asked by a local television reporter if he had anything to prove to Cincinnati's fans in the wake of the arrest on Jan. 3.

The question came shortly after Jones, in a response to the same reporter, thanked the organization, coaches, players and fans for publicly supporting him during his latest off-field incident.

Before the interview, Jones said he would not be taking any questions relating to the arrest.

"Didn't I just tell you to not ask me that?" Jones said. "You out (of this interview). Turn around. Go back, go back that way. Bye. See you. Next question."

Multiple media outlets reported that Jones followed the reporter and cursed him for the line of questioning, eventually causing Bengals coach Marvin Jones to intercede.

Jones was arrested on a felony charge of harassment with a bodily substance and misdemeanor charges of assault, disorderly conduct and obstructing official business as a result of an altercation with a security guard at a Cincinnati hotel.

The Cincinnati prosecutor dropped the felony charge last week and Jones' lawyer said he will plead not guilty to the remaining charges.

Team owner Mike Brown and Lewis offered their support for Jones, who was shown on video using profane language toward police officers and telling them he wished they would die.

Jones' lawyers have since released a statement saying that their client has apologized for what he said and is seeing counseling for anger management as a result of the incident.

Jones was apprehended for turning violent when he was approached at the Millennium Hotel late on the night of Jan. 2. Jones allegedly kicked at and head-butted the police officers who took him into custody.

When he arrived at the jail early on Jan. 3, Jones, according to court records, spit on a jail nurse who attempted to provide treatment.

It was the latest in a number of off-the-field transgressions for Jones, who was suspended for the 2007 season following a skirmish at a club in Las Vegas that left a man paralyzed.

A 10-year veteran and one-time Pro Bowler, Jones totaled 66 tackles, one interception, seven passes defensed and one forced fumble over 16 games in the 2016 season.
