April 16 (UPI) -- He doesn't just take risks on the football field. Cam Newton also gambles with his wardrobe. The Carolina Panthers quarterback was in California this week attending Coachella. Newton is known for his eclectic style and billowing closet, but he still manages to entertain fans when not wearing his Panthers garb.

He definitely didn't disappoint at the annual music festival. Newton posted several pictures to Instagram, showing off his flashy threads.
The quarterback put on a two-piece floral outfit for the famous event. The pink and orange plants covered his long sleeve button-down shirt and shorts. He also sported a fedora, circular sunglasses, an array of multicolored bracelets, and smoked a cigar.
"I stand out," Newton wrote in the Instagram caption. "I don't blend in. When I said that, I meant it."
Social media critics are calling the garden number everything from grandma's couch fabric to a nightgown.
His quote was a verse by Future in Drake's song Grammys. Newton posted the photos on Saturday. Lady Gaga, Bon Iver, and Future headlined the concert that day, among other performers.
Newton has had a busy offseason after his girlfriend Kia Proctor gave birth to daughter Sovereign-Dior Cambella Newton on Feb. 3. He also had surgery in February to repair a partially torn rotator cuff in in throwing shoulder.
The 2017 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival ends on April 23.
