April 3 (UPI) -- Free agent All-Pro running back Adrian Peterson has denied a high asking price and now up to five teams are interested in his services.

But that asking price could also be dropping.

Early on in free agency, reports surfaced saying that Peterson was asking for more than $8 million annually in any new deal. Peterson was quick to deny that demand, and his once-quiet offseason has amped up the volume.

The former Minnesota Vikings superstar visited the New England Patriots on Monday and there could be four more teams interested in acquiring him, Sirius XM NFL Radio reported.

The Monday morning report stated there are "three to five teams interested" in Peterson and that he has not "set a price." It also stated that Peterson has yet to turn down an offer.

Peterson worked out with Jameis Winston last week as rumors rose regarding a union with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also has been linked to the New York Giants, Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, and Oakland Raiders.

The 31-year-old was originally due $18 million this season before being cut by the Vikings.
