The Kansas City Chiefs and safety Daniel Sorensen agreed to a four-year contract extension, according to multiple reports Saturday.

The deal is worth $16 million and includes almost $8 million guaranteed and a little more than $2 million in incentives, according to the Kansas City Star. The total agreement is worth $18.4 million and pending a physical.

Sorensen, a restricted free agent who was given a second-round tender earlier this week, was set to play the 2017 season for $2.746 million without a contract extension.

The 27-year-old Sorensen recorded career highs with 63 tackles, six pass deflections, three interceptions and two forced fumbles in 16 games last season. The product of BYU is also a key special teams player for the Chiefs.
