March 10 Jamaal Charles and the Seattle Seahawks might be a match.

According to NFL Network, Charles will visit the Seahawks amidst mutual interest between the 29-year-old and Seattle. But his last healthy season was in 2014, and a history of knee injuries could drive down his price.

Charles was placed on injured reserve Nov. 1 with a meniscus tear in his right knee and was released by the Kansas City Chiefs as the NFL world converged on Indianapolis for the start of the Scouting Combine.

The Seahawks are without a lead back and juggled several players in an injury-riddled platoon last season without Marshawn Lynch, who retired. Thomas Rawls returned from an ankle injury only to battle leg injuries most of the season and C.J. Prosise emerged as a change-of-pace option when rookie Alex Collins didn't take the reins. Christine Michael led the Seahawks in rushing with 117 carries for 469 yards and six touchdowns.

Health becomes Topic A for the Seahawks and other teams vetting Charles.

Charles' surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews, who also cleaned out his left knee. Both procedures were labeled by the Chiefs as minor.

"(The left knee) wasn't as bad, but there was some stuff in there," Charles said. "It made sense to do it so I could just heal up and go out there feeling the same way in both knees, just completely ready."

Charles was owed $7 million in salary and bonuses for 2017 before his release.

The four-time Pro Bowler played in only three games in 2016 after never properly healing from an ACL tear he sustained in 2015. Charles rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown on 12 carries.

Charles is a nine-year veteran who has totaled 7,260 rushing yards and 43 touchdowns in 103 career games.

Seattle was rumored to be an option for former Vikings running back Adrian Peterson - who has a connection with offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell from his Minnesota days - but the Seahawks are reportedly not planning to bid for his services.
