March 9 (UPI) -- Torrey Smith is leaving the West Coast for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The free agent wide receiver agreed to a three-year, $15 million deal Thursday with the franchise, according to reports. Smith adds a much-needed playmaker to the Eagles' stable of pass catchers under second-year quarterback Carson Wentz.

Last season, Smith had 267 yards and three touchdowns on 20 receptions in 12 games. The Eagles would prefer to see him put up a season like he did in 2013 or 2014. In 2013, Smith had 1,128 receiving yards. The next year he scored 11 touchdowns. In 2015, Smith led the NFL with 20.1 yards per catch for the San Francisco 49ers.

After being cut on March 6, Smith was also linked to the Baltimore Ravens, where he spent the first four seasons of his career. The 28-year-old is entering his seventh pro season after being picked in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
