March 2 (UPI) -- One team without a quarterback and two teams with young gunslingers are looking to add talent at the wide receiver position. Alshon Jeffery could fill that need.
The Chicago Bears wide receiver is expected to hit the market as a free agent on March 9. According to ESPN's Josina Anderson, the San Francisco 49ers, Tennessee Titans, and Philadelphia Eagles will be 'potential suitors' one-time Pro Bowl selection. Jeffery, 27, had 821 yards and two touchdowns on 52 receptions last season. He has started 16 games in a season just once during his five-year career. During that season, Jeffery amassed 1,133 yards and 10 touchdowns on 85 receptions. In 2013, he had 1,421 yards and seven touchdowns on 89 receptions. The Bears could also choose to bring Jeffery back at a lower price than his potential $17.5 million franchise tag tender, that was declined.
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported that the Titans will "make a push to bring in" a wide receiver. CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported similar interest from the Eagles. His price tag could be driven up by the recent Antonio Brown deal. Jeffery made $14 million last year under the franchise tag.
Jeffery was on pace to play 16 games last season before being suspended for four games because of PEDs.
